Connection of Freestanding Gas Cooker
The service includes
- All gas connections are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers
- Positioning the cooker in to the room of choice
- Connection of the new cooker and connection to an existing natural gas supply with a bayonet fitting
- Test everything to make sure it works and meets all current legislation
- Connect an electric cable for the pilot light if required
- Test for gas leaks on completion of the connection
- Provide documentation to confirm a succesful and safe connection
- Remove all packaging
- Connection engineer will arrive simultaneously with the delivery team
The following is required to ensure a successful connection
- Connection can only be in domestic properties
- The appliance fits where it needs to be installed
- If a cooker hood is present there must be at least 76cm between it and the hob
- The gap between the cooker and the base unit must be at least 2cm
- There is a working and accessible gas supply, within one metre of the connection site
- An electric socket within half a metre if required
- Electrical points above the cooker are blanked off
- There are no cupboards directly above the appliance, or combustible materials behind the cooking space
- No carpentry or plumbing work is required
- A gas hose should be supplied by the customer, although a hose can be purchased from the installer
NB During the connection the installers will have to interrupt the gas supply to safely install the product. When the gas supply is reconnected, they will endeavour to restart any gas appliances in the home.
