Have you ordered from Comet just before the big administration announcement?
You're probably feeling a little worried and uneasy about your order and whether you will receive your goods.
If so, you can find some impartial help below for each circumstance.
You can relax if you've paid by credit card!
You're within the Consumer Credit Act which means you are protected on anything you buy between£100 and £30,000 for free. So even if the company goes into admin you are able to get your money back. This is legal protection that was put in place so that you're never in the position of paying debt for something you didn't receive. You need to ask your credit provider for details of how to make a claim under the equal liability rules.
You'll need to check with your bank if you've paid by debit card.
Comet are not legally obliged to refund your money so this is a tricky situation. The first thing you need to do is get in touch with your bank immediately and see if you can do a “chargeback”.
If you paid through PayPal you will need to contact them.
If you're a PayPal customer you can raise a dispute - just contact them directly to see what they can do.
Cash, Cheque & Vouchers could prove a little more tricky...
