- This was a flatbed microwave with a grill. I was unsure if you could use the metal rack in combi and microwave cooking mode - it is unclear from the manual if you can do that, but apparently its fine for both. here is what technical support said:
Yes, the rack can also be used with the combi functions. It’s a common myth that metal cannot be used in microwaves ( even though the inside of many are metal), but basically as long as the metal is a distance from the edge of the microwave to prevent arcing, and there are not prongs which charge could arc across ( such as a fork) It is usually fine to use within a microwave, even in a microwave function but foil containers aren't brilliant as it can arc against itself and melt. Arcing is really something you want to avoid, especially if it is against the side of the microwave as is likely to result in damage over a prolonged period.
The oven is solid and well built and has good capacity. It is compact enough to fit in a small area.The flatbed is great-no turntable.
