Typical of good quality LED sets, there's also truer realism and a greater sense of depth. Thanks to a suite of noise reduction processors the picture is also clean and free from distracting digital distortion.

CRISP SOUND To get a sound quality to match the picture we'd recommend using the Toshiba's digital or analogue (headphone) outputs through your home cinema, soundbar or hi-fi system. That way you'll get an expansive sound quality to match the picture. As standard the 39L4353B comes with a 14 watt amplifier built-in and stereo speakers that do a fair job of filling larger rooms with sound.

SMART CONNECTIVITY INCLUDING WI-FI BUILT-IN AND WEB BROWSER Over and above the model below, the 39L4353B features both a web browser and wi-fi built-in. The web browser gives you access to browse the web, just as you'd do on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. There's also Toshiba's Places internet portal. This gives you access to a great range of web-based applications. These include the BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Facebook and Netflix. There's also DLNA networking compatibility, allowing you to link up with other DLNA enabled devices such as your laptop, PC or NAS drive and stream music and video from them to your TV. Choose between the standard Ethernet connection or the built-in wi-fi to gain access to your home network. Finally, instead of using the supplied remote control you can download an app from Toshiba that gives you full control of the TV via your smart phone.

With HD TV, clarity and detail are greatly improved with sport and natural history programmes both benefiting hugely. In terms of connections, the 39L4353B has more to offer than many of its rivals. Four HDMI sockets let you easily connect up a Blu-ray player, HD games console and HD TV box such as Sky or Virgin. Added to this are twin USB sockets. Connect your digital media player and playback your video, photos and music through the TV. Also standard are inputs for SCART, component, composite, headphones and PC. The PC input is great for making use of the Toshiba's skills as a large scale monitor for gaming.
