Question from JP: Asked on 10/10/2013 Are the written/stamped control characters underneath the glass or printed on top. Will they rub off with cleaning?

Most glass hobs do have the characters printed ontop of the glass like this one but you can find some that don't. They won't rub off easily, only through grease or scrubbing directly onto the area continuously.
