What is an extraction rate?

Cooker hoods come with different extraction rates, which determine how quickly the air is changed in the kitchen. It’s recommended that your cooker hood should change the air around 10 times per hour. So, the larger the kitchen the higher the extraction rate.

The extraction rate your kitchen needs all depends on its size. The faster the extraction rate the faster the air will be cleaned, although the noise level may go up, so faster isn’t always better. Take a look at how to work out your extraction rate above.

The Electrolux EFC9441X is a 90cm wide angled extractor finished in stainless steel.

The EFC9441X has 3 speeds and an intensive mode selected via a rotary control and washable aluminium grease filters. There are three 20 Watt halogen lights to illuminate your hob. The motor gives you a good extraction rate of 540 cubic metres per hour, which is ideal for kitchens up to 67 cubic metres, and a noise level at 68 decibels.

As a wall-mounted extractor the EFC9441X can be installed to re-circulate the air into the kitchen or to be ducted out. If you are choosing to re-circulate you’ll need a charcoal filter and if you’re ducting out you’ll need a ducting kit with a 150mm diameter.
