Air Conditioner Calculator

What are the room dimensions?

What is BTU?

A BTU (British Thermal Unit) is a rating used to determine the heating or in the case of an Air Conditioner the cooling capacity of an appliance.

Typically a minimum of 7000 BTU is needed to cool a small room, whereas commercial units can reach up to 25,000 BTU and beyond. Simply, the greater the BTU, the larger the space that the unit can cool.

  • The details

Sitting within the window frame itself and held in place by brackets, this is one of the best ways to cool your home (and an office) without the hassle of fully installing it into your ceiling. There's no complicated external units or venting systems to worry about - simply mount it to your window and plug it into a wall socket.

Installation is key here, so its best to think about if you'll be using it in a window or if you'll be building it into your dry wall. If you're using it in a window then you'll need to make sure you have a sliding window that opens vertically, its not suitable to use with any window that opens sideways or outwards. You'll also need a set of mounting brackets to ensure the air conditioner stays firmly in place - Scroll down to the highlighted grey section below for the required bracket.

We've got two versions, the only difference being the cooling power. The 9000 BTU version is perfect for small-medium sized rooms up to 26 sqm, whilst the 12000 BTU model packs in more power to cool large rooms up to 30 sqm. Both units are fitted with the very latest DC Inverter technology, which may not sound like a big deal, but trust me, it is! It cools your room quicker and quieter than non-inverter models, which makes it really cheap to run and can save you up to 50% on your energy bills.

So, if you're after an air conditioner that's powerful, energy efficient and doesn't take up ANY floorspace, then this electriQ windows unit may be exactly what you need.
