Extraction Rate Calculator

Use our handy calculator, to help figure out exactly what extraction rate you require for your kitchen.

What is an extraction rate?

Cooker hoods come with different extraction rates, which determine how quickly the air is changed in the kitchen. It’s recommended that your cooker hood should change the air around 10 times per hour. So, the larger the kitchen the higher the extraction rate.

The extraction rate your kitchen needs all depends on its size. The faster the extraction rate the faster the air will be cleaned, although the noise level may go up, so faster isn’t always better. Take a look at how to work out your extraction rate above.

This product is no longer available.

This is a grade A2 product with scuffs and a very small chip on the front, scuffed light cover and all 4 back corners dented. The damage is superficial and won't affect the operation of the unit. It will be fully bubble-wrapped for transportation and comes with the full manufacturer's warranty.

The Hotpoint HTV10B is a 60 cm wide conventional hood in brown.

This model has 3 speeds that can be selected by slider controls and it has a synthetic grease filter. There is a light bulb to illuminate your hob. The motor gives you an extraction rate of 190 cubic metres per hour, which is ideal for smaller kitchens up to 23 cubic metres, and a noise level of 49 decibels.

As a conventional extractor the HTV10B can be installed to re-circulate the air into the kitchen or to be ducted out. If you are choosing to re-circulate you’ll need to purchase a charcoal filter from Hotpoint Service and if you’re ducting out you’ll need a ducting kit with a 100mm diameter.

Hotpoint guarantee their appliances for 5 years on the parts and 1 year on the labour. Please ensure you register your appliance to receive this.
