  Electric fireplaces are energy-efficient and cheap to install. However, one unit of electricity is more expensive than one unit of gas, making electric fireplaces costlier to run in comparison.

• Do electric fireplaces give off heat?

  Yes, they deliver plenty of heat and remain cool to the touch. Before purchasing an electric fire, we recommend reading your product's technical specifications to ensure its kW rating is powerful enough to warm your room.

• How big of a room will an electric fireplace heat?

  The higher a fireplace's wattage, the larger the room it will heat. As such, we recommend measuring your space in square feet before starting your search.

• Are electric fireplaces better than space heaters?

  Electric heaters are generally safer and more energy efficient than space heaters. However, they can be more expensive to buy.

• Can I fit an electric fire myself?

  Yes, most electric fires are very easy to install – just secure to a wall and connect to a mains socket. If you have a wall-hung fireplace, please ensure the wall is strong enough to withstand its weight before mounting.

• Do electric fires just plug in?

  Yes, most electric fires can be plugged into an electric socket.

• How far should a TV be above an electric fireplace?

  We recommend mounting a TV at least 10 inches (25.4 cm) above your electric fire to avoid heat damage.

• How far off the floor should an electric fireplace be?

  This depends on personal preference; however, most people like to see flames in their line of sight while seated. With this in mind, traditional electric fireplaces are usually placed 6-12 inches from the floor, and linear fireplaces are mounted at least 12 inches from the floor.
