Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC – an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.
Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG, can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.
AI Picture
Artificial Intelligence comes of age with LG’s Deep Learning AI Picture. This clever system compares the signal with a table of content and automatically adjusts the picture quality to the most accurate image possible. Using an ambient light sensor, the system adjusts screen brightness and other criteria (with HDR signals). The result is greater realism with a cleaner and sharper picture.
AI Sound
If you fancy a more cinematic sound from your TV, then LG’s AI Sound should be music to your ears. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1 sound – giving a much more immersive sound stage. The a7 Gen 2 processor also optimises the sound based on content type – giving clearer vocals with news and dramas. The powerful AI can also take account of your room’s acoustics and layout and adjusts to give the cleanest sound possible.
Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG 75” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With its built-in 2.2 speaker set-up and a 40 watt amp, the 75SM9000PLA delivers a smooth, well-balanced sound.

WiSA stands for Wireless Speaker & Audio. The system wirelessly streams sound up to 24bit 96kHz, 8-channels and includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. WiSA is flexible as you decide which speakers you want and where you want them – they don’t even have to be from LG. Smart voice control – ThinQ AI integrates with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa*
Voice control has got much smarter with this LG TV. Press the dedicated voice mic button and ThinQ AI decides if the TV’s software or Google Assistant handles the command. Google Assistant is capable of changing the channel and input via voice command. It also integrates with services such as Google Photos and Google Maps to make your TV an even greater source of entertainment. As an alternative, direct voice control via Amazon Alexa is also set to be an option from mid/late 2019. *Alexa built-in upgrade due later in the year.
