Experience amazingly lifelike scenes with sensational colour through the JU6800 UHD Nano Crystal TV - a breakthrough that takes ultra-high definition to a new level. Delivering 20% more colour than standard UHD, colours are brighter and more vivid making the picture come to life.
Nano Crystal technology is a new, patented material featuring colour crystals that are three to seven nanometres in size (one thousand millionth of a metre) and are 33,000 times smaller than a strand of hair. This latest technology combines with the backlight panel to deliver a higher transmittance of purer white light and a wider colour gamut than standard UHD TVs.
Ultra-HD upscaling
The JU6800's Ultra HD screen offers a dramatically enhanced viewing experience. With four times the pixels of Full HD, you’ll be able to see every single detail in 4K – no matter what resolution the content is. This is with thanks to Samsung’s innovative upscaling* technology which converts lower resolution content, such as live TV, to a level of detail which is near UHD quality. Upscaling is a process through which a lower resolution signal or data source is displayed at a higher resolution. The upscaling process interpolates additional pixels from the source data, and produces a clearer picture on your 4K screen than a non-upscaled image.
Enhanced Smart Hub
Samsung’s Smart TV platform, Smart Hub, is faster than ever delivering the latest in streaming, catch-up and gaming services. Stream Ultra HD movies and TV shows through Netflix and Amazon’s subscription services, catch up on the shows you’ve missed with BBC iPlayer and browse YouTube for the latest online sensations, all through your TV. Game-Changing HDR
Forays into colour-boosting High Dynamic Range (HDR) have begun, and Samsung are one of the forerunners. As members of the newly-founded UHD Alliance, they've rolled out a firmware update that makes this set HDR-compatible. Usually, studios are forced to dilute the colour of their shows and films to fit on our TVs. Now, screens like this can channel content from studio-to-living room with the same precision and utterly otherworldly hues. Enjoy eye-popping HDR content from such apps as Netflix and Amazon Instant Video (subject to firmware update).
