Question from Rob: Asked on 28/01/2026 I have to replace my existing Cube Concealed Thermostatic Bar Shower due to limescale buildup. I bought the original unit (product code 7730 GR-AZ-14C) in 2014.
The current model looks similar to the older one but I notice thst the face plates are a different size: 120mm x 215mm (current model) cf. 130mm x 200mm (older one).
Are there any other differences? Are the older and current models compatible? I'm obviously concerned about the inlet/outlet spacings.
Hi Rob,The new Cube/Grohtherm concealed shower valve isn’t directly compatible with your 2014 7730?GR-AZ-14C. The faceplate is a different size, and the internal valve body has likely changed—modern units use the Rapido SmartBox. While the inlets are standard ½″ BSP, their spacing and orientation may differ, so the new valve may not fit without replacing the rough-in body.Thanks!
