You are expressly prohibited from using the firepit on wooden decks, grass, or any flammable surfaces, including vinyl. Because woven plastic rugs are typically made of synthetic fibers like polypropylene (a form of plastic/vinyl), they do not meet the manual's requirement for a 3-metre clearance from combustible materials. Furthermore, the unit becomes extremely hot during operation and can remain hot for up to two hours after use, posing a significant risk of melting or damaging synthetic floor coverings if placed directly upon them.
