Heat Output Calculator

Our calculator helps you easily determine the heating capacity you need for your space. For larger rooms, consider using multiple radiators, opting for larger sizes, or choosing models with more panels to meet your BTU requirement.

Select your desired room

Select the correct measurement type, and input the height, width and length.

Are there any of the following in the room:

Total: 0 BTUs
Total: 0 kW

What's a BTU?

BTU (British Thermal Unit) measures how much heat a radiator can output. The higher the BTU, the more warmth it provides. To choose the right radiator, calculate the BTU needed for your room size, insulation, and window type. Too low, and your space stays chilly; too high, and you waste energy.

which valves do I need?

Which valves do I need?

Angled Radiator Valves

Angled radiator valves are typically used when the pipework comes from the floor, or from the wall directly behind the radiator. The angled design allows for a neat connection.

Corner Radiator Valves

Corner valves are often used when the pipework comes from the wall, or runs along the wall and needs to turn a corner to connect to the side of the radiator.

Straight Radiator Valves

Straight radiator valves are used when the pipework comes up from the floor directly beneath the radiator and are perfect for towel radiators where the inlets are at the bottom. They're not suitable for side-entry radiators unless the pipework runs along the wall horizontally.

H-Block Radiator Valves

H-Block radiator valves are a more compact solution, often used with modern radiators that have connections at the bottom, rather than the sides.

Pipe route/Inlet type Pipe up from floor Pipe out of wall Pipe runs along wall
Side Angled Corner (neatest) or Angled* Straight
Bottom Straight Corner
Middle twin ports Straight Angled H-block (Rare) Corner

* While you can often rotate an angled valve, corner valves can offer a cleaner look and prevent accidental bumps.

Its modern, wall-mounted design blends functionality with elegance, offering a practical way to keep towels warm and dry while enhancing your décor. Finished in a stunning brushed brass, this dual fuel radiator makes a bold design statement, ideal for contemporary homes that value both style and comfort. Measuring 1600 x 500mm, this Sonoran radiator is perfect for large bathrooms, combining high heat performance with timeless appeal. Dual fuel towel rails offer the flexibility of being powered by both your central heating system and an independent electric heating element. This allows you to keep your towel rail warm even when the central heating is switched off—perfect for summer or transitional seasons. With efficient dual fuel functionality, these towel rails provide reliable year-round warmth, improved energy control, and added convenience, making them an ideal heating solution for any modern bathroom. For safe and efficient operation, the heating element’s wattage should match or be lower than the radiator’s rated output, as using a higher‑wattage element may cause overheating or damage.

The sleek 16-bar design features square bars that not only add a contemporary edge but also provide plenty of space to hang and dry your towels quickly and efficiently. Its brushed brass finish and minimalist aesthetic make it a stylish focal point for any modern bathroom. Crafted from high-quality steel, this towel radiator is built to endure humid environments. Its mild steel material boasts anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties boosting durability, while the excellent heat conduction guarantees lasting warmth. Easy to clean and low maintenance, it’s a smart and elegant solution for both heating and towel storage.
