Hi Neil, templates are not always supplied with sinks. It is standard practice to flip the sink bowl down on to the worktop, mask off, mark the perimeter edge of the sink, mark 10mm in from this edge and cut out the hole for the inset. Also, it would be highly recommended to have the sink installed by an experienced plumber to get the best results possible. I hope this answered your query. Thanks.
