Question from David: Asked on 27/01/2026 I want to mount a TV closer than the recommended 45 inches above the TV. It will be installed in an existing chimney breast. Can I put some form of barrier in place to take the heat such as a heat resistant shelf?

If you wish to mount the TV closer, a properly designed heat-resistant shelf or barrier—made of materials like stone, glass, or metal—can help deflect the heat. Hi, You can safely add heat-resistant, non-combustible decorative logs around the burner of your AmberGlo bioethanol fireplace, but never place them in the flame or use real wood.

Hi, he AmberGlo 50-Inch Bioethanol Media Wall Fireplace (AGL090) does not require a flue, chimney, or venting system. Bioethanol fuel burns cleanly, producing only heat, a small amount of water vapor, and minimal carbon dioxide, so there is no smoke, soot, or ash. However, it is important to ensure good ventilation in the room when in use. The fireplace is designed for wall installation and can be used safely without any external flue.

Hi, The AmberGlo AGL090 fireplace is 50 inches wide. A TV around 50–55 inches will fit nicely above it, but you must leave at least 45?cm of clearance between the fireplace top and the TV to protect it from heat. It’s not safe to put the TV directly on top — wall-mounting above the fireplace is the recommended and safest option.

Question from Jonathan Roberts: Asked on 21/11/2025 Hi, does the bio ethanol fire generate a lot of heat, I would like to install one but there are shelves above so it can’t get too hot.
Hi, The AmberGlo AGL090 bioethanol fireplace does produce real heat (around 3.78?kW). Parts of the unit, including the glass and burner top, can get very hot, so shelves directly above it must have proper clearance or heat protection to ensure safety.
