Hi, The Hotpoint CHDC82GGGDUK is a condenser dryer that collects water in a tank. Connecting the drain hose to a drain is optional. The dryer will work perfectly well without it — you’ll just need to empty the water container manually after each cycle. The drain hose is only there to allow the water to run away automatically.
