Question from Keith Waites: Asked on 03/01/2026 Is this model either or ducted or recirculating
Hi Keith,The AEG 5000 Series 60?cm Pyramid Chimney Cooker Hood (DKB4650M) can be installed either as a ducted extractor venting air outside or as a recirculating hood using a charcoal filter, giving you flexibility depending on your kitchen setup. Thanks!
Question from DKB4650M: Asked on 18/12/2025 With this model how does recirculating work when it has holes in the chimney vent. Where’s it recirculating to? Surely all that it is taking in is coming out of the top. Is there 2 different options on this model for ducted or recirculating? I’ve read it has a charcoal filter but surely if it’s recirculating it will just blow it all out of the hood at the top. Pls advise how this is supposed to work. I’m interested but need to know how both ways work. I know a duct is a hole in the wall which gets rid of everything but how does recirculating work?
Thank you
Hi, The AEG hood can be installed either with ducting to vent air outside, or without ducting in recirculating mode. In recirculating mode, the fan draws in the air, which passes through the metal grease filter and charcoal filter, and then the cleaned air is released back into the kitchen through the chimney vent. If ducting is fitted to the top outlet, the air is expelled outdoors.
Thank you.
