Question from Neil: Asked on 11/06/2026 Does this hob sit flush with the worktop surface?
Hi Neil, the electriQ 60cm 4 Zone Induction Hob (eiQ60INDTOUCH) does not sit completely flush with the worktop; it is designed to sit slightly above the surface as a standard built-in hob rather than a fully flush-mounted model. Thanks!
Question from Janice: Asked on 21/05/2026 Can you use any pots with this hob
Hi, Yes — this induction hob requires induction-compatible cookware. It will only work with pans that have a magnetic (ferrous) base, such as cast iron or stainless steel designed for induction. Cookware made from materials like aluminium, copper, glass, or non-magnetic stainless steel will not be suitable unless it has an induction-compatible base. A simple way to check is that a magnet should stick firmly to the bottom of the pan.
Thank you.
Question from Ifeanyi: Asked on 11/05/2026 How do I put it on and use it for cooking
Hi,To use the electriQ 60cm 4 Zone Induction Hob, switch it on using the touch power button, place an induction-compatible pan on the cooking zone, select the zone you want to use, and adjust the heat level with the touch controls to start cooking. Thanks!
Question from Megan: Asked on 12/04/2026 Is this hob suitable for me to have an oven underneath it?
Hi Megan,Yes, the electriQ 60cm 4-zone induction hob (eiQ60INDTOUCH) is generally suitable to be installed with a built-in oven underneath it, as long as the cabinet is designed for oven use and there is proper ventilation space between the two appliances in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. Thanks!
Question from Lea: Asked on 18/03/2026 How much space is needed underneath if wanting to install a heat shield over a cutlery draw
Hi Lea,For the electriQ 60?cm 4-Zone Induction Hob (eiQ60INDTOUCH), you should leave at least 50–65?mm of vertical clearance between the underside of the hob and the top of any cutlery drawer below. Additionally, ensure proper ventilation by leaving a small gap (around 5?mm) at the front or sides so the hob’s cooling fans can circulate air, and never seal the space completely—this prevents overheating and protects both the hob and the drawer. Thanks!
Question from Vivienne: Asked on 10/03/2026 How much does it weigh?
Hi, The electriQ 60?cm 4-Zone Induction Hob (model eiQ60INDTOUCH) weighs approximately 9.3?kg.
Thank you.
Question from Barry: Asked on 16/12/2025 Will this hob work on a Ring main socket
Hi, The ElectriQ 60?cm 4-zone induction hob cannot be plugged into a standard socket or ring main. It draws too much power—about 6.8?kW—and must be connected to its own dedicated 32?A circuit by a qualified electrician for safety.
Thank you.
Question from W J Davidson: Asked on 14/12/2025 What size cable 6mm?
Hi,For your electriQ 60cm 4 Zone Induction Hob (eiQ60INDTOUCH), which has a power rating of approximately 6.8?kW, it should be hard-wired to a dedicated 32?A circuit. The correct cable size for this setup is typically 6?mm² twin and earth, which safely carries the current for a standard installation. In some cases, electricians may choose 10?mm² for extra margin, especially for long runs or high ambient temperatures. The installation must follow UK regulations and should always be done by a qualified electrician. Thanks!
