Hi, The polystyrene at the back of your Hotpoint Freestanding Slimline Dishwasher (HP2FE10CS90WUK) is there to protect the unit during transport. It’s tightly molded around internal components, which is why it needs to be removed carefully and gradually. Pulling it out bit by bit is normal and prevents any damage to hoses, wires, or brackets.

HI Nichola,Before using your Hotpoint HP2FE10CS90WUK dishwasher, you should remove any obvious polystyrene or foam packaging at the back, as these are transport protection and not part of the appliance. The grey felt material, however, is likely a factory-installed sound insulation blanket and should remain in place.Thanks!
