Samsung Luzon A+++ Smart Multi-Split 9000 + 12000 BTU Wall Mounted Air Conditioner with Heat Pump

A premium multi-split, sized for two rooms

The Samsung Luzon dual-split brings Samsung’s Free Joint Multi (FJM) platform to a compact two-room set-up. Unlike conventional split air conditioners that need a separate outdoor compressor for every room, the Luzon runs two indoor units from a single AJ040 outdoor condenser. That saves on installation, saves on running cost and keeps the outside of your property tidy. Each indoor unit is controlled independently – by its own remote or through the SmartThings app – so both rooms can be set to suit whoever is in them.

The pairing is deliberate:

• 9000 BTU indoor (2.5 kW) for a bedroom, nursery, home office or study, up to ~25 sqm.
• 12000 BTU indoor (3.5 kW) for a lounge, dining room or open-plan space, up to ~35 sqm.

Cooling & heating, all year round

The Luzon is a full heat pump system – it cools in summer and heats in winter, drawing on the outdoor unit’s 4.2 kW nominal heating output. The dehumidify function pulls excess moisture out of the air for better air quality and is genuinely useful for drying laundry on wet days. Heating by heat pump is up to four times more efficient than direct electric heating and the outdoor unit keeps working in outdoor temperatures down to -15°C in heating.

Samsung Digital Inverter Boost

At the heart of the system is Samsung’s Twin BLDC rotary compressor with Digital Inverter Boost. Compressor speed ramps up and down with demand instead of switching hard on and off, so the system reaches target temperature quickly and then modulates down to hold it. Inverter systems typically cut 40–60% off the energy bill versus a fixed-speed equivalent and run far more quietly once settled. As configured here (9K + 12K), the system is rated SEER 8.54 (cooling) and SCOP 4.60 (heating) – energy class A+++ / A++.

Customize your comfort & save energy

Don’t waste money conditioning rooms nobody is in. A dual split lets you create separate temperature zones in the parts of your home you actually use, with each room set independently. At nominal cooling, the outdoor unit draws around 0.9 kW – roughly 24p per hour at 27p/kWh* – and the inverter drops well below that once it is holding temperature.
