Question from Jilly: Asked on 31/10/2025 Hi, we often lose electricity would it be possible to use this without electricity and light with a match. If not ,do you have a freestanding cooker that is similar that you could suggest. Thank you so much.
Hi Jilly,Yes — you can still use the Nordmende CTG62LPGBK gas cooker during a power cut. The burners and oven run on gas, so they’ll work without electricity, but you’ll need to light them manually with a match or lighter since the electric ignition won’t function. The oven light and timer won’t work without power, but the flame safety devices will still operate normally.Thanks!

Hi, The Nordmende CTG62LPGBK 60cm cooker is equipped with an LPG oven and grill. It is specifically designed to operate on LPG and comes pre-set in an LPG-ready configuration, so no conversion is needed. Both the main oven and the grill are powered by LPG, ensuring efficient gas cooking. It is also requires installation by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
