The core of any heating decision is output. Every radiator is rated by its wattage (W), which dictates the size of the space it can effectively warm. Vertical electric radiators rated at 1000W are generally spot on for a smaller bedroom or study, whereas a 2000W model can tackle a decent-sized lounge or kitchen.
Most decent manufacturers also provide the BTU equivalent to allow for an easy comparison with older central heating systems. Always choose a bit more output than the bare minimum. Better to be cosy than underpowered.
The single biggest draw for a tall electric radiator is its ability to save that all-important wall space. The upright, vertical shape means you can fit substantial heat output into narrow spaces. This leaves your horizontal wall space free for furniture, shelving or that lovely piece of artwork.
It’s especially handy in narrow hallways, en suites or in homes where windows are low or walls are full. Many of our models are under 120?mm deep (from the wall), so they don’t jut out too far. All are wall mounted to keep your floors clear.
Not all electric radiators warm the same way. Some use dry-thermal cores (no liquid inside), while others use a thermal fluid (oil or glycol). Dry thermal heats up quickly, is lighter and won’t ever leak. Fluid-filled models, however, are known to retain their heat for longer after they've switched off. This can be an efficient use of residual energy.
With energy costs so high, the smart features matter as much as how much heat you get. Our range is packed with features designed to stop you wasting a single kilowatt:
These features are your absolute best tools for controlling your heating without sacrificing comfort.
If you want to install in a bathroom or kitchen, check for an IPX4 or higher rating (splash resistance). Many of our vertical models have this, making them safe for wet zones. We also detail weight and wall-fixing type. Some larger upright radiators are heavy. Some may need two people to install or stronger fixings behind the wall.
While function and efficiency are paramount, a radiator shouldn't be an eyesore. Our radiators come in finishes like white, grey, black and brass. Flat panel, column, or modern slat styles: there’s something to suit both classic and contemporary spaces. Because these are upright electric radiators, they should make a visual statement without overpowering the room.
Many of our models support remote control via WiFi or Bluetooth, and pair with apps (for iOS and Android). Some even integrate with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can treat each radiator as its own zone, so you heat rooms individually instead of the whole home. That’s a real plus over traditional central heating.
Here’s a quick checklist when you look at any upright or vertical electric radiators:
We believe heating should be clever, not complicated. Our vertical radiators are compact, energy smart and built to look good. We test each unit for efficiency and safety, and all are compliant with the latest energy standards. Share your room dimensions (height, width, insulation) and we’ll help you pick the exact radiator that gives comfort without over-spend.
