Question from John: Asked on 18/03/2026 Does this have to be used with the drain hose as well or can it be run just with the exhaust hose? I want one for my garage gym and want to vent it through a wall with only one hole
Hi, In cooling mode, this unit does not require a drain hose under normal operation. It is a self-evaporating air conditioner, meaning most of the condensation is reused internally and expelled through the exhaust system. The drain hose is only required if the internal water tank becomes full (error code “E4”) or if the unit is used in dehumidifier mode. For standard cooling with proper wall venting, only the exhaust hose is needed.

Hi Simon,For your refurbished AirFlex 14000?BTU Portable Air Conditioner (A2/AIRFLEX15), you should use a drain hose with an internal diameter of about 13?mm (½?inch) to connect to the unit’s condensate drain port. This size allows water to flow out by gravity to a bucket, floor drain, or other drainage point. (Note: the large 15?cm exhaust hose on the unit is for hot air, not water.)Thanks!
