Question from SteveH: Asked on 08/05/2026 Does this need / come with, a diffuser?
Hi, Yes, this model does include a heat deflector. It comes supplied with a half-moon ceramic pizza stone which also acts as a diffuser for indirect cooking such as smoking and low-and-slow BBQ. This is included as standard with the grill.
Thank you.
Question from Chris: Asked on 07/05/2026 Does this include stand and wheels?
Hi, The Boss Grill The Egg 18-inch Ceramic Kamado BBQ (eiQGREGG) is supplied with a full wheeled trolley stand as standard. This includes a metal frame with four castor wheels (two of which are lockable), and the BBQ is designed to be securely assembled and used on this stand.
Thank you.
Question from Janet: Asked on 23/04/2026 How do you remove the Ash from the 18inch egg barbecue. Thank you
Hi, To remove ash from the 18-inch Boss Grill ceramic kamado BBQ, ensure the unit is completely cool before starting. Open the bottom air vent and use an ash tool or small metal scoop to rake the ash forward inside the base towards the vent opening. Allow the ash to fall out through the vent into a non-flammable container placed underneath. Do not use water or any liquids inside the ceramic, and only clean once the barbecue has fully cooled.
Thank you.
Question from Ian: Asked on 23/04/2026 Hi
On the 18” model is the Lid fitted with an easy open hinge.
Thanks
Ian
Hi, The 18-inch Boss Grill The Egg (eiQGREGG) comes with a properly designed hinge system that makes lifting and holding the heavy ceramic lid safe and manageable. The lid is supported by a robust hinge and handle assembly, and the manual recommends regular maintenance, such as oiling the hinges, to ensure smooth operation. Users should still exercise caution when opening the lid at high temperatures, but the hinge is specifically engineered to reduce effort and prevent the lid from slipping or slamming.
Thank you.
Question from Suzanne: Asked on 10/03/2026 How do you clean the egg
Hi Suzanne,To clean your Boss Grill The Egg - 18 Inch Ceramic Kamado, first use the self-cleaning feature by heating it to around 500?°F (260?°C) for about 30 minutes to burn off food residue. Once it’s cool, remove the ash with a scraper, hand-wash the cooking grates using mild detergent, and wipe the exterior ceramic with a damp cloth. Avoid spraying water or harsh chemicals inside, as this can damage the ceramic. Periodically, check and tighten any bolts or hinges and oil them if needed to keep the grill in top condition. Thanks!
Question from Fay: Asked on 02/03/2026 Can this be mounted on a concrete shelf rather than the metal stand? Thank you
Hi Fay,You can place the Boss Grill The Egg on a concrete shelf instead of the metal stand, as long as the surface is level, stable, and non-combustible, with enough clearance around the grill for airflow and safe operation. Ensure the concrete can support the grill’s weight and heat, and allow easy access for cleaning and maintenance. Thanks!
Question from Dan: Asked on 31/01/2026 Hi,
Other than the size difference, are the specifications of this model the same as the larger XL model?
E.g. the hinge, and ash tray etc
Hi, The 18-inch Boss Grill The Egg and the XL model share the same core ceramic kamado design, including the ceramic body, vents, thermometer, easy-lift lid, and wheels. The differences beyond size are:
The XL includes a removable ash tray; the 18-inch does not.
The XL has a multi-tier cooking grid and can accommodate extra accessories like additional pizza stones; the 18-inch has a simpler setup.
The hinge design is similar, though the XL often comes with a sturdier stand.
So while the basic design is the same, the XL offers some additional convenience and accessory options.
Thank you.
Question from Romain Le Chevallier: Asked on 02/01/2026 Hi,
Could we keep this bbq outdoor, no roof?
Is there any anti rust treatment?
Thanks,
Romain
Hi, The Boss Grill The Egg 18-inch Ceramic Kamado BBQ is designed for outdoor use and can safely be kept outside with no roof. The ceramic body won’t rust, but metal parts may corrode if left wet, so it’s recommended to use the included rain cover, wipe metal parts after rain, and move it under shelter during prolonged wet periods.
Thank you.
