Compressor dehumidifiers have refrigerant mechanisms and are generally less expensive to run. Desiccant dehumidifiers are ideal for colder temperatures as they emit warm air. Peltier dehumidifiers are better suited to smaller spaces like bedrooms and cars.

Question from James Wilson: Asked on 06/01/2026 How long do these take charge back up to blue
Hi, To recharge the ElectriQ MD100 mini dehumidifier, simply plug it into a wall socket. It normally takes around 10–15 hours of charging for the crystals to turn blue, which means the unit is fully recharged and ready to use again. Do not leave it charging for more than 18 hours.
Thank you.
Question from Ellie: Asked on 18/11/2025 Does this help with condensation?
Hi, The electriQ Rechargeable Mini Dehumidifier (MD100) helps reduce condensation by removing excess moisture from the air in smaller spaces. It's ideal for areas like bathrooms or bedrooms, but for larger spaces or high humidity, a more powerful dehumidifier may be needed.
Thank you.
Question from Paul: Asked on 09/11/2025 What is the lowest temperature it works at?
Hi Paul,The electriQ Rechargeable Portable Mini Dehumidifier MD100 is designed to operate most effectively in temperatures between 5°C and 50°C (41°F to 122°F). It may not function properly in colder environments, as the moisture in the air could freeze, hindering its performance. Thanks!
Question from Gez: Asked on 06/11/2025 Does it power off automatically when full ?
Hi, The electriQ MD100 Rechargeable Portable Mini Dehumidifier does not automatically power off when it is “full.” This model uses moisture-absorbing crystals (desiccant) rather than collecting water in a tank. When the crystals become saturated, they change colour to pink, indicating that the unit has absorbed as much moisture as it can. At this point, the unit must be manually recharged by plugging it into a wall socket for 10–15 hours. It does not have a water-tank sensor or automatic shut-off feature.
Thank you.
Question from N Jackson: Asked on 28/10/2025 Will this work outside in a car?
Hi, The MD100 dehumidifier is designed to be used in small, confined spaces where a standard dehumidifier cannot be used—such as drawers, cupboards, storage boxes, and cars. It absorbs moisture with rechargeable crystals, helping to reduce condensation and keep your car interior drier.
Thank you.
Question from Liz: Asked on 24/10/2025 Could you use thus in a shed to help in the winter.
Hi Liz,The electriQ Rechargeable Portable Mini Dehumidifier (MD100) can be quite effective in a shed during the winter by helping to reduce humidity, preventing condensation, mold, and rust on tools or equipment. Its portable and rechargeable design makes it convenient for spaces without electrical outlets, and it's ideal for smaller sheds. However, for larger sheds or areas with high humidity, you may need multiple units or a more powerful dehumidifier. Thanks!
Question from Davebehave: Asked on 15/01/2025 You say that once it’s full of water you recharge it and can you explain how it does that as I’m sure it would cause water vapour in the air ie steam so how does it dry it out without adding moisture in the air
Hi Dave,
Thanks for getting in touch
That's correct - Ideally, you should recharge the MD100 in a dry room or a room where a standard dehumidifier is used.
Hope this helps,
Sam
