Question from Claire Wood: Asked on 13/05/2026 Do you need special pans for this hob?
Hi, This induction hob does not require any special branded pans, but it does require induction-compatible cookware with a magnetic (ferrous) base in order to work. Suitable cookware includes cast iron, enamelled steel, and most stainless steel pans that a magnet will stick to. Pans made from aluminium, copper, glass, ceramic, or non-magnetic stainless steel will not work unless they have an induction-compatible base. A simple way to check is to use a magnet — if it sticks firmly to the base of the pan, it will be suitable for use on this hob. The flex zones do not change the cookware requirements, they simply allow larger or multiple pans to be used across the combined cooking area.
Thank you.
Question from Karen: Asked on 04/05/2026 What energy rating does it have ? And is there a “plug and play” version please . Thank you
Hi, The electriQ 90cm Induction Hob (eiQ90IND2FLEX) does not carry a traditional A–G energy rating, instead it is an efficient induction hob with an energy consumption rating of around 186 Wh/kg. It is not plug-and-play and must be professionally hardwired, as it does not come with a plug and requires a dedicated high-load electrical supply (typically 32A–48A depending on installation setup).
Thank you.
Question from Rob: Asked on 09/04/2026 What is the height of the glass above the worktop?
Hi Rob,The glass surface of the electriQ eiQ90IND2FLEX sits almost flush on the worktop, rising only a few millimetres (around 3–6 mm), with the rest of the hob’s height—about 60 mm—located underneath the worktop inside the cabinet. Thanks!
Question from Teresa: Asked on 24/02/2026 Does this have a child lock feature?
Hi, Yes, the electriQ 90cm Induction Hob (model eiQ90IND2FLEX) includes a child lock feature. This allows you to lock all the controls to prevent accidental operation, for example by children. To activate it, press and hold the child lock key for 3 seconds—the indicator will light up and the display will show “Lo.” To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the same key for 3 seconds while the hob is on. While the hob is locked, all controls except the ON/OFF key are disabled, but the hob can still be turned off in an emergency.
Thank you.
Question from Aks: Asked on 13/02/2026 Is this need 6mm cable or 10mm with 48amp fuse please?
Hi, The electriQ 90?cm Induction Hob eiQ90IND2FLEX must be connected on a dedicated 48?A circuit using a 10?mm² supply cable. A 6?mm² cable is not suitable for a 48?A protected circuit because it is not reliably rated to carry that current in normal UK installation conditions.
Thank you.
Question from Shane: Asked on 01/02/2026 Warranty please

Question from Wendy Carmichael: Asked on 18/12/2025 What size unit does this need under it?
